The Crazy Horse School Board voted unanimously May 27 to authorize administration to pursue FY2026 State Tribal Education Partnership (STEP) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development grant opportunities on behalf of the school and to complete necessary application requirements.
The motion (05-27-26-04) was moved by Valerie Adams and seconded by Dawn Moves Camp and carried with recorded affirmative votes from Cornell Conroy, Sue Yellow Elk, Dawn Moves Camp, Valerie Adams and Francine Red Willow. The board did not record additional conditions in the motion; next steps are for administration to prepare and submit applications as appropriate.
The action authorizes school staff to seek competitive external funding sources for programs identified by the administration. The board will consider any resulting grant awards and related budget adjustments in a future meeting.
