The superintendent explained that operations typically show a negative balance midyear because tax draws arrive in June and December, and that the board packet included cash-flow, investment reports and a list of grant balances.
On grants, the superintendent said some reimbursements for the Title II 2024 award have been delayed by issues with the state's new grant system and that the district extended the Title II reimbursement window to 9/30/2026 to allow final submissions. She noted the cash-flow tables included separate funds for education operations, debt service, rainy day, preschool and the lunch fund.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about when grants “drop off” the financials and how specific funds like the lunch program are funded; the superintendent said the Chartwells food-service fund is largely self-sustaining through federal and state meal reimbursements, catering and student payments. The board approved the financial items without opposition.
