Public works staff member Andrew Tramp presented a draft Cost Sharing Agreement for the United States Army Corps of Engineers Big Sioux River Hydrology General Investigative Study. Mr. Tramp told the board the study is expected to cost no more than $3,000,000 over the next three years with federal funding covering 50 percent; the non-federal share would be split equally among Union County, North Sioux City, Dakota Dunes CID, and the City of Sioux City, and Dakota Dunes' estimated portion is $375,000 over three years.
The Union County Commissioners had approved participation in the study on July 7, 2026. The CID board did not vote on the agreement at the July 20 meeting and will consider approval and signature at a future meeting.
