The Oak Forest Veterans Commission confirmed Saturday, June 27, 2026, as the planned date for the city’s Independence Day celebration and designated Gaelic Park as the venue. Chair Joe Pilch said Mad Bombers has been contacted and is on board; entertainment will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the main band scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m.
City Administrator Moses has been scheduling coordination meetings with the police and fire departments and the city’s Emergency Management Agency to plan public-safety and traffic logistics. Commissioners also discussed recognizing the national America250 anniversary and agreed to review America250.org for related programming ideas. The commission asked staff to coordinate any venue changes with Gaelic Park and to confirm vendor and stage requirements before finalizing the event program.
