The Deer Park City Council approved a business development plan for the Deer Park Airport and authorized spending not to exceed $30,000 for Norton Strategic Consulting.
Mark Norton presented the consultant’s "Delivery of Services," described as a Deer Park Airport Business Development Plan. Airport Manager Darold Schultz said he would like to see the plan attract a larger client, noting "for example Drone Technologies and Educational possibilities." Councilmember Fred Senn moved approval of the plan with a budget cap of $30,000; Councilmember Jason Upchurch seconded. The motion carried 7-0.
Councilmember David Aufdencamp asked that the plan be completed prior to the 2027 budget cycle. The council did not specify a payment schedule or additional performance benchmarks in the meeting record; contract and scope documents will set those details.
