Superintendent: insurance rates rose 28%; district to move to new risk pool

Superintendent John Wyrick reported to the Labette County USD 506 Board that insurance rates with Wood Insurance Company increased 28% and included a deductible change. Wyrick also said local school superintendents "feel good about Senate Bill 387" and that he would update the board on that legislation as appropriate. The board did not take immediate action on insurance beyond recording the Insurance Committee's recommendation during the superintendent's report.
