City staff report sewer pre-con, truck surplus, police promotion and active-shooter training coordination with schools

Tyson Jackson said a pre-construction meeting for the sewer project is scheduled and that staff expect to surplus five trucks; he told the council the surplus will be presented at the next meeting following valuation by the city's Blue Book process. "We have a pre-con meeting for the sewer project scheduled. We will be surplus five trucks," Jackson said.
Stetson Talbot announced the promotion of Justin Matson to sergeant, noted one officer is leaving and part-time staff are being hired to fill vacancies, and said the department is "moving forward with active shooter training and coordinating with the schools on the Guardian Program." Councilmembers requested the surplus-truck report be presented before disposal and discussed scheduling a tour and follow-up recommendations for planning and operations.
Andrea Steiniger updated the council on property acquisitions and easement negotiations required for the Farr West Landing 1740 West connection, including work with Union Pacific and recent appraisal steps; she said a Union Pacific letter of understanding approval is expected to be on a future agenda.
