Laurie Hellstrom told the council that Doug Bronson, the city's longtime broker, is retiring and recommended Camren Applegate with The Buckner Company as his successor. "We soon need to start checking into health insurances," Hellstrom said, adding that the appointment is based on Bronson's recommendation and carries no cost to the city.
Councilmember David Marriott moved to appoint Camren Applegate as the city's employee-benefits advisor and insurance broker; Councilmember Sara Urry seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (5-0). The appointment authorizes staff to begin broker-led review and vendor outreach in advance of upcoming benefit renewals.
