Representative Johnson said $40 per service "sounds like a reasonable fee" but questioned whether the administrative work would be heavy for that amount; Reeves replied sheriffs likely agree $40 is not much but they should not be left absorbing multiple services without payment. The subcommittee voted 7–0 to forward HB 17-98 to full judiciary.
