Ty Dolan of Skynet Innovations, who identified himself as "account and support services manager from Skynet Innovations," described the devices as ruggedized and drop-proof and said they include a five-year warranty and software/update support.
Councilmembers confirmed the Toughbooks will be allocated to mobile staff across departments, with the units serving the fire department, building department inspectors, DPW, water and the animal shelter. One councilmember asked about typical service life; Dolan said the units have about five years of software/update coverage and come with a five-year warranty.
