DPW Supervisor Jeremiah Helenhouse told the council the village splash pad went down Friday night and staff are obtaining parts to repair it. He said DPW crews are redoing concrete on Fourth Street and by Fresh Point Nutrition and expect that work to be completed by Tuesday, June 23.
Helenhouse said routine yearly water samples will begin within the next week and that lead and copper sampling will begin next month. He also relayed that the Michigan DEQ sent notice requesting PFOS samples again in December and that the agency wants two PFOS samples collected at that time. The DPW report was presented as part of department-head updates; no formal action was required at the meeting.
