Council approves Shelby Acres PUD amendment to add six homes, 6–1

The Village of Shelby Village Council on June 22 approved a major amendment to the Shelby Acres Planned Unit Development to allow construction of six additional residential units at the eastern end of the subdivision. The amendment will increase the development's total dwelling units to 88. The Planning Commission had reviewed the request and recommended approval.
Council discussion included a staff consultation with Don Devries, who reported that adding six units would not adversely affect existing water or sewer capacity and that roadway infrastructure in place would avoid access or transportation impacts. Councilwoman Crystal Heykoop asked that the Shelby Acres Site Condominium Parcel Number List and the site plan be updated "to ensure numbering consistency and accurately reflect the proposal for six additional homes." The council approved the amendment by roll call (ayes: Heykoop, Crothers, Termer, Gottschalk, Trott, Sutton; nay: Zaverl), 6'1.
