Commission approves $250.80 annual communication fee for Big Belly solar trashcans

The commission voted unanimously on April 9 to pay $250.80 for the annual communication service that alerts DPW when Big Belly solar trashcans need emptying after earlier grant funds expired. Marilyn Ozols described the units as part of sustainable measures in the Westbrook Place parking lot, including pervious pavement and native plantings.
Darlene Briggs moved to pay the $250.80 communication fee to DPW, the motion was seconded by Kristen Meyer and approved unanimously. Briggs also noted the information panels on the cans are out of date and asked that the Garden Club update the signage; Libby Waldron said she will follow up with the Garden Club.
