Peter Gillespie reported that both Gowrie buildings on Essex Road have been sold and that construction activity — primarily interior fit‑outs — should begin soon.
Gillespie summarized a "lively conversation" at the March 9 Planning Commission meeting over the Viking Motel proposal at 756 Boston Post Road. The application includes a 200‑square‑foot storage building on the front of the property to meet a mixed‑use requirement; the applicant is currently before the Zoning Commission. Gillespie said CT DEEP recommended not approving the application due to flood concerns, and through recent legislation CT DEEP will now review a broader set of applications than in the past.
No vote was taken on these development updates at the joint meeting because there was no quorum.
