Board hears KASB and SEK Interlocal updates; policy revisions set for March action

Kevin Cole told the board that the National School Boards Association Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C., which he attended in January, "was outstanding," and he provided a brief update on association-level advocacy work.
Cole also reported that SEK Interlocal #637 is advocating at the state level for increased special education funding. Separately, the board reviewed the first reading of proposed policy revisions; the board will take formal action on those policy updates at its March meeting.
No board votes were taken on policy changes during the Feb. 12 meeting; the items were presented for first reading and scheduled for subsequent action.
