Hazlet accepts several state grants totaling about $119,000 for recycling, clean communities and traffic safety

At its July 14 meeting the Hazlet Township Committee authorized the insertion and appropriation of three Chapter 159 special items of revenue into the 2026 municipal budget.
Resolution 26-154 accepts the Recycling Tonnage Grant of $29,251.03; Resolution 26-160 accepts a Clean Communities Grant of $47,502.64; and Resolution 26-161 accepts a Highway Traffic Safety Grant of $42,200. Each resolution requests that the Director of the Division of Local Government Services approve the insertion and that the matching appropriation be recorded in the municipal budget.
The agenda language lists the grant amounts and the budget captions under which the funds will be appropriated. The resolutions instruct the Township Clerk to forward copies to the Director of Local Government Services and the Chief Financial Officer.
