Hazlet committee rescinds earlier actions and adopts amended 2026 municipal budget

The Hazlet Township Committee on July 14 rescinded two earlier budget-related resolutions (R-26-165 and R-26-166 rescinding R-26-131 and R-26-132 adopted May 12) and approved Resolution 26-167 with detailed amendments to the 2026 municipal budget.
The amendments increase the surplus anticipated from $3,100,000 to $3,170,500, adjust miscellaneous revenue and local tax figures, and raise several appropriation lines, including police salaries and employee group insurance. The amended totals change the Total General Revenues from $25,848,629.10 to $26,041,880.54 and the Total General Appropriations similarly to reflect the adjustments.
After the line-item amendments, the committee approved Resolution 26-168, authorizing adoption of the amended 2026 municipal budget pursuant to the attached budget document. The agenda records roll call for adoption; the agenda language does not print the full roll call tally for each line but records the committee’s approval.
