Selectboard moves to transfer fire department CD, reviews delinquent tax account and orders interest refunds

Weybridge Selectboard voted unanimously to transfer a Certificate of Deposit to the Fire Department's EIN, reviewed adding a second name to the delinquent tax checking account, and agreed the town will return interest to three residents who grieved reappraisals.
At the Jan. 6 meeting the board approved a motion by Bill Mayers, seconded by Stacey Rainey, to change the EIN on a Certificate of Deposit currently held by the town so the CD would be held under the Fire Department's EIN for its equipment fund.
Stacey Rainey reported she had drafted a letter to the Delinquent Tax Collector proposing that a second name be added to the Delinquent Taxes checking account; the board reviewed the draft and will consider next steps. The board also determined the town is responsible for returning interest to three residents who grieved their reappraisals; the amounts will be calculated and returned.
Separately, the board acted to approve bills (Stacey Rainey moved; Charlie Jordan seconded; unanimous). The minutes show the board agreed to administrative steps to ensure departmental funds and tax accounts are aligned but do not record dollar amounts for the CD transfer or the refund totals.
