The Finance & Personnel Committee on April 14 approved a package of highway and infrastructure actions including a fund transfer, engineering agreements and multiple structure improvement resolutions.
Members approved a $479,679.67 fund transfer to cover approved 2025 Highway purchases and an LPA engineering services agreement for CH50 and CH55. Regarding bids, County Administrator Jim Grafton noted an available bid for CH50 in the amount of $497,602 and that no bids were received for CH55; he said staff and public works would review quotes and determine next steps. "The Engineer’s estimate was $500,000 and the bid came in at $497,602," Grafton told the committee.
The committee also approved a FY26 anticipated maintenance expenditures resolution for $3,822,000 (Motor Fuel Tax eligible items) and approved Illinois Highway Code resolutions including CH78 (US67 to Indian Bluff Road) and structure funding for Structure 0813094 over Meridosia Ditch ($500,000) and Structure 0813110 over Mill Creek ($1.5 million). The motions carried by voice vote.
