County Administrator Jim Grafton reported to the committee that a recent wind storm damaged the west roof of the County Office Building. He told members that the county’s insurance carrier will cover $85,000 toward replacing the roof and noted that the roof was last replaced in 2001 at an approximate cost of $20,000.
Grafton warned that actual replacement could cost somewhat more than the insurance payout. The report was circulated as part of the Finance & Personnel Committee update; no contract award or bid acceptance for the County Office Building roof replacement appeared in the Committee of the Whole minutes on April 15.
