At the Feb. 19 meeting, Nancy Wetch of G&O told the Soap Lake City Council that the city's wastewater treatment facility is operating under capacity based on the firm's analysis. "The treatment facility is operating undercapacity," Wetch said, and she recommended further technical review to identify necessary maintenance and upgrades.
Councilmembers discussed both the technical findings and funding paths. The general consensus was to have G&O draft specific recommendations, including a scope of work and potential grant and loan application opportunities, for Council consideration at a subsequent meeting.
