The South Cle Elum Town Council on July 21 approved a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) allowing periodic retail sales of nursery plants, adding a condition that no extended parking be allowed on South Cle Elum Way or that traffic be blocked. Mayor DeVere opened the public hearing, Clerk Luanne read two written comments from nearby property owners who expressed support, and council members raised concerns about parking and traffic safety.
Councilmember McGuire moved to approve the CUP with the added parking condition; the motion was seconded by Allenbaugh and passed by majority vote. Mayor DeVere instructed staff to write a letter including the added condition and send it to the applicant. The hearing was opened at 7:04 p.m. and closed at 7:12 p.m.
