Superintendent says South Cle Elum watermain replacement "is moving along nicely"

Superintendent Matt told the council the town's watermain replacement project "is moving along nicely," with the new mainline laid in the alleys between South Cle Elum Way and Sixth Street. He said services will be hooked up once pressure testing and bacterial samples clear, and that recent outages were emergency breakages rather than planned shutoffs.

Matt also reported that Kittitas County has pre-leveled Washington Avenue in preparation for chip seal later this summer. The superintendent said the town will post notifications before any planned outages. Councilmembers raised safety concerns after Ditsworth reported seeing children playing on the exposed mains despite signs from Fury Site Works; the council did not take additional formal action at this meeting but noted continued oversight during weekly project meetings.
