Big Stone County board approves $104,691.36 in claims and assigns Chapter 103E auditor duties to finance director

The motion to authorize claims was moved by Athey, seconded by Thyne, and carried unanimously.
The board then considered and adopted Resolution 2026-05, which cites Minnesota Statutes §375A.1205 and §375A.10 and states that Chapter 103E duties assigned to the county auditor "shall be discharged by the Big Stone County Board of Commissioners through the Finance & Government Services Department under the direction and supervision of the Director of Finance & Government Services," effective December 29, 2025. The resolution also authorizes the Director to delegate ministerial and administrative tasks to department staff under the Director's supervision.
Board members did not record dissent; the resolution and claims authorization each passed unanimously. The actions clarify administrative assignment for drainage-related statutory duties but state they do not remove any duties required by law.
