At its June 30 meeting the Jones County Board of Supervisors adopted multiple interfund transfer resolutions and fund-balance designations. Key transfers include Resolution #25/26-4 directing $3,243 from the Conservation Land Acquisition Trust Fund to the General Basic Fund (broken down across specified conservation expenses), Resolution #25/26-5 transferring $22,900.93 from the General Basic Fund to the Conservation Trust Fund (Wapsi Trail remaining balance), Resolution #25/26-6 moving $400,000 from the Secondary Road Option Tax Fund to the Secondary Road Fund to cover a list of road and bridge projects, and Resolution #25/26-7 transferring $23,000 from the General Basic Fund to the Capital Projects Fund.
The board also adopted a fund balance designation committing $268,794 in the General Fund to specified capital and conservation projects and set a restricted balance of $1,013.40 for Nature Center and education grant funds. The Secondary Road Fund was designated to hold 100% of local option tax funds collected for road and bridge construction through June 30, 2026, less prior transfers. Separately, the board adopted a petty cash fund resolution establishing imprest amounts for multiple departments (for example, Auditor $50.00; Secondary Road $200.00; Sheriff $500.00 motor vehicle account). All motions were adopted on unanimous roll call votes.
