Council approves Public Safety Testing agreement with corrected start date

The Soap Lake City Council unanimously approved Jan. 15 an agreement with Public Safety Testing, Inc. (PST) to provide written testing, physical testing and background checks for potential police hires. Councilmember Bryson moved and Councilmember Gorman seconded the agreement, which was approved with a corrected commencement date of Jan. 15, 2025.
Mayor Peter Sharp said PST is used by the Police Department to fulfill testing requirements mandated by the state. The agreement correction was procedural; the council did not record a vote split and the motion "carried unanimously."
