The Jackson County Board on April 7 approved the auditor's claims listing in the amount of $400,847.23 and authorized the auditor’s office to issue warrants and publish the claims listing. Auditor Lisa Smith listed several notable charges in that total, including a $26,000 waste authority payment, roughly $44,000 toward a second Tahoe for the sheriff’s office, about $39,000 for salt, and approximately $111,000 for rock. "I need a motion to approve and authorize the auditor's office to issue warrants in the publication of the claims listing in the amount of $400,847.23," Lisa Smith said; supervisors moved, seconded and carried the request by voice vote.
The board also accepted the recorder's monthly report of fees collected for March 2026 totaling $43,422.52 and placed it on file after a motion to accept and authorize signatures. In other routine business the board approved the renewal of a Class C retail alcohol license for Parker's Pit Stop LLC at 29418 Highway 52, Bellevue (04/04/2026–04/03/2027), and accepted the resignation of Laurie Barrons from the Jackson County Historic Preservation Commission, effective 03/31/2026. All motions carried by voice vote.
