The Rock Island County Board on April 21 approved a finance package of unencumbered funds, transfers and claims that included a $475,679.67 transfer into the Highway equipment fund to cover purchases ordered in 2025 but received in 2026.
Finance Director Ryan Berger presented a list of new-money requests and transfers including $84,280.44 to fund three part-time positions in Animal Control, funding for two Court Specialist III positions and one Accounting Specialist III in the Circuit Clerk's office, a $4,485 preventative HVAC maintenance contract for Animal Care & Control, an $8,750 landscaping project for the County Office Building, and reappropriation requests for sheriff building projects totaling $273,497. The board approved the package and the claims list; the auditor reported total invoice transactions of $1,583,304.75 for the period reviewed.
Board approval moves those dollars into the identified accounts; several line-item transfers and grant/settlement adjustments were recorded in the packet. The action was approved by roll call vote on the finance agenda items.
