Mayor Peter Sharp told the council the city is accepting bids for a gasoline fueling station at Public Works; diesel service is already available at the site and adding gasoline would provide fueling for patrol vehicles and Public Works equipment.
Chief Geates said vehicle maintenance is underway and that one candidate for hire is nearly finished with background checks and could start the police academy in May. The mayor also said that GCSO and MLPD K-9 units will attend the next council meeting to receive donations from the former SLPD K-9 fund; no dollar amount for the donation was specified in the meeting record.
