Several community updates and public comments were recorded during the meeting. Leslie Taylor thanked the city for the fall clean-up program; Robert Zerfing, the new Resort Director, announced weekend brunches, a New Year's Eve event and a lobby café, and presented a $500 gift-card donation to the Soap Lake Police Department for the Shop-with-a-Cop program.
Mayor Peter Sharp also updated the council on recent activities: he attended PIT training with the police department and noted Public Works crews were hanging holiday lights on Division, Main and East Beach, clearing alleyways, and planning to add gravel to 2nd Ave, 7th Ave and Maple Streets. Councilmember Carson outlined Winterfest plans for Dec. 7 including a bazaar, bingo, a library book sale, theater events and Santa photos.
