Planning staff: dock hearing closed Jan. 27; lake water-quality standards under review

City Planner Kovach informed the Soap Lake City Council that the public hearing for a dock proposal closed on Jan. 27 and that "the information is under review and no decision has been finalized yet." The planner said January saw four permit applications and that staff are reviewing the dock submission before any council decision.
Councilmember Gorman asked whether the Department of Ecology (DOE) or Department of Natural Resources (DNR) had been contacted; Kovach noted that ORW (Outstanding Resource Waters) sets a standard for lake pollution, described in the transcript as a decrease in conductivity, and she is interested in receiving input from those agencies. No formal decision or permit action was recorded at the Feb. 5 meeting.
The council was told the dock matter remains active but unresolved; staff indicated they will continue review and pursue agency input where appropriate.
