The commission approved planning variance PV25-16 for 804 East 27th Street, allowing two residential lots with center-point depths of about 94.5 feet where the RD-5 minimum is 100 feet. Staff reported each lot would be about 66 feet wide and roughly 6,200–6,300 square feet — about 25% larger than the minimum square footage requirement — and that many surrounding properties already fall below the current lot-depth standard.
Commissioners asked about parking and staff said the transportation department had no comments and that surrounding properties are similar in size; commissioners expressed support for infill and noted that final building plans will proceed through typical site-plan and permitting review. A motion to approve the variance passed unanimously and the chair adjourned the meeting at 7:04 p.m.
