South Weber City Council unanimously approved an annexation petition by developer Nelson Holmes to incorporate a portion of the Riverwood subdivision where a county-line adjustment had left property split between jurisdictions. Staff said the annexation formally aligns the municipal boundary with the adjusted line and resolves long-standing jurisdictional issues.
A city planner explained that the county and developer had agreed to shift the county line south in the Riverwood area, and the annexation simply brings the newly adjusted parcel under South Weber jurisdiction. Councilmember motioned to accept the petition and a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval. Councilmembers said the change "cleans up the line" and will resolve future questions about services, permitting and maintenance.
