The Airport Development Board recommended acceptance of two FY‑26 FAA grants that staff said will fund the terminal project phase 1. Don told the board the airport's Airport Improvement Program (AIP) entitlement grant is $1,914,676 and the FY‑26 Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) award is $3,856,870; both grants carry a 5% local match under the IIJA provisions and, Don said, this is the last year AIG funds are available to the airport.
"These grants are fully dedicated to the terminal project," Don said in explaining the awards. He said the AIP amount includes carryover and adjustments from prior fiscal years that made the entitlement larger than the usual $1.3 million.
The board moved, seconded and recommended acceptance of both grants by voice vote. Don said staff will include these amounts in the phase‑1 funding plan and present the grant acceptance ordinance for council action.
