The Marshall County Board of Supervisors voted March 25 to opt into a national opioid settlement for six remnant defendants and authorized the county attorney to sign related documents.
Assistant Marshall County Attorney Kiyoko Kieffer said the total national payout for the settlement is $97,625,000 and that Marshall County’s estimated one-time share is “slightly less than $10,000.” She noted the county may use the funds for community benefit consistent with prior opioid settlements and that the deadline to opt in is May 4, 2026. The motion carried 3–0.
