Resident asks to reapply for subdivision after temporary easement approved

During the council’s open-comment period on Dec. 12, 2024, Craig Dearden of 352 West Center Street asked the council to allow him to reapply for a subdivision application that had been denied earlier this year.
Dearden said he initially worked with a former planner about an emergency easement that would provide required second access and that his May application was denied because the temporary easement had not then been approved. He told the council that the easement is now in place and asked to reapply. Mayor Travis Mote said he had discussed access matters with City Manager Jeremy Kimpton, noted Dearden obtained permission from Mr. Hansen, and said staff would investigate prior agreements and report back to Mr. Dearden.
No formal council action on the specific subdivision reapplication was taken at the meeting; staff follow-up was requested.
