Council members discussed pros and cons — including the role of licensing in identifying dogs and tracking rabies vaccinations — and agreed to have staff draft a resolution for future consideration. Council Member Rod Mund moved to direct staff to prepare the resolution; the motion passed unanimously.
The council did not adopt the change that night; staff will return a draft resolution for council consideration at a future meeting.
