Hall questioned how the data categorized crash types and noted that 2023 showed a higher number of opposite-direction crashes during construction periods, while 2024 data reflected post-construction figures. She asked the council to ensure the consulting analysis addresses whether median removal would meaningfully affect the types of crashes observed and not just overall totals.
Council did not take immediate action on the median removal during the meeting; staff previously noted the consulting firm was reviewing safety impacts and Hall asked that the review not be limited to aggregate counts.
