City manager update: roadwork, waterline progress, cemetery cleanups and game‑day shuttles

Deputy City Manager Hugh Walker updated the council on several city projects and community events. He said the Carson intersection will have daily closures to identify utility conflicts before pavement replacement to speed construction and described Mumford Road Phase 1 work from FM 2818 to Carrier Lane.
Walker reported an 18‑inch waterline installation between Highway 47 and Highway 21 is substantially complete and that the bottom half of the Chick Lane elevated storage tank bowl has been painted and lifted into place. He noted quarterly cemetery cleanups at Bridal Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery (through Aug. 15) and announced a Senior Splash Bash at the Bryan Aquatic Center on Aug. 21 with a $4 gate admission.
Walker also reminded the council that the first game‑day shuttle of the 2025 football season will run Aug. 30 from the Roy Kelly parking garage to Texas A&M’s Memorial Student Center and pointed residents to bryantx.gov for schedules and more information.
