A Committee member at the July 13 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting asked staff to research the history and ordinance interpretation for a sign installed on a berm at the northwest corner of 400 North and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
"Our ordinance defines that a sign cannot be placed on a berm to to raise it above the height of the surrounding land," the Committee member said, asking whether the sign predated code changes and whether staff could provide background. The member requested either an offline staff response or an email follow-up.
Shannon Norman McGriff, the new senior planner, replied that staff would investigate. "We definitely can take a look at that," McGriff said, adding that if an ordinance interpretation or enforcement contact was needed, staff would work with the compliance team and report back. The board did not take immediate formal action; staff was asked to follow up.
