Several residents described ongoing stormwater erosion on and adjacent to Old Airport Road and asked the board for assistance.
Ralph Johnson, who lives at 235 Old Airport Road, told the board that runoff is eroding his property and said he believes a pipe installed by the township is to blame. "It is eroding the property" Johnson said, asking the supervisors to help resolve the problem. Dennis Piper (233 Old Airport Road) reported about 25 hemlocks on his property are being washed out and said he has already placed a load of dirt on the site. "Ralph has dug out a big trench with his backhoe," Piper said to explain interim work taken on the site.
Gary Hennon of 217 Woodbury Drive said the stormwater pipe now in the woods on his parcel "wasn't always there until the Township installed it" and requested township review. In response, Supervisor George Reese said he walked the properties and encouraged staff to examine the issue to determine whether township infrastructure is involved and what corrective steps might be possible: "I did walk the property and encourage staff to take a look at the problem," Reese said.
The board did not take any immediate formal action other than directing staff to review the sites and report back; no timetable for repairs was specified in the meeting record.
