Staff provided an overview of the strategic plan at the initiative level and explained that departmental staff will expand initiatives into actionable goals and projects. Council members were asked to identify anything missing from the initiative list or items discussed at the retreat that did not appear in the packet staff circulated.
Staff clarified how the resident survey is intended to inform the strategic plan: survey results give staff and council insight into resident satisfaction and help prioritize initiatives such as code compliance or park improvements. “The survey is just to simply gather input from your constituents to how are we doing? Then you come together in the plan and say, okay. I understand. Our people aren't happy about…then it leads to the discussion,” a staff member said.
