TxDOT's area representative and City of Abilene staff reported progress on multiple roadway projects in the MPO area.
The TxDOT representative said contractors made good progress at Willis and that crews will return to North Grape to address ride smoothness next week: "our contractor will be going back in, scheduled to go back in next week and address the ride through there on North Grape." The representative also noted two projects went through letting this month—South 14th signal improvements and a large I-20 six-lane project from FM 600 to State Highway 351—and that neither contract had been awarded yet but both bids were within expected ranges.
City staff Richard Harvard reported on local work including finishing touches on Scribe Street, a recent ribbon cutting for a plaza, utility corrections to enable a parking lot, and neighborhood paving and concrete work on Grape to Hickory (North 13th–18th) with paving operations to follow. These updates focused on construction sequencing and near-term work rather than new project authorizations.
