Board members discussed an open seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals and the board's recruitment process during the Nov. 19 meeting.
Planning Manager Boyd Lawrence said the town clerk asked that the vacancy be placed on the agenda so the board would be aware and could suggest candidates; he said the vacancy has been advertised in the newspaper and posted on the town website. Lawrence said, "our town clerk want us put on the agenda just a discussion that there is the open seat" and encouraged members to suggest interested residents.
Lawrence also gave a heads-up about a possible additional application pending documentation. "We may have another application coming ... and we may not get to it until January," he said. The board did not take further action other than to note the vacancy and encourage outreach; staff will contact potential applicants and follow up when paperwork is complete.
