Purcellville BZA elects Eric Zimmerman chair, Jonathan Wright vice chair

The Purcellville Board of Zoning Appeals elected Eric Zimmerman as chair and Jonathan Wright as vice chair at its Nov. 19, 2024 meeting.
Committee member moved to nominate Eric Zimmerman for chair and the motion was seconded; members voted in favor and the motion carried. Committee member stated, "I nominate Eric Zimmerman as chair for the board of zoning appeals." The board then nominated Jonathan Wright for vice chair, a remote member signified assent, and members voted to approve that appointment as well.
Staff read the town's remote-participation policy into the record, citing Virginia Code 2.2-3708.3(d) to authorize remote attendance. Planning Manager Boyd Lawrence opened the meeting and identified board members and staff at the start of the session. The officers were chosen as part of the board's annual process to fill leadership positions and to establish the order of business for the year.
The board took the votes verbally; there were no recorded objections during the chair and vice-chair elections. No additional nominations were brought forward and the board moved on to other agenda items.
