During the July 8 meeting commissioners compiled a list of maintenance and improvement priorities across parks. Items recorded in the minutes included painted trash barrels and replaced canopies; commissioners noted a need for additional budget to complete proposed fountains at Trees Lake and requested ongoing cattail control and graffiti cleanup.
Commissioners also asked staff to consider replacing swing equipment across parks, evaluate a request for a merry-go-round, and consider installing basketball hoops at a named park. Lighting requests included solar lighting or conventional lighting at the dog park by EJ Hooten Park, and commissioners asked for signs stating park closing hours according to the city ordinance. Staff will return with budget estimates where required.
