Pulos says he would abolish ICE and end qualified immunity for agents

An audience member from Brookline asked Pulos what he would do on immigration enforcement. Pulos said he is the only candidate in the race to call for abolishing ICE and described moving immigration enforcement to an agency with a longer legal tradition, such as the former INS.
"I think we should get rid of the agency," Pulos said, adding he does not mean to eliminate immigration enforcement but to reassign responsibilities. He also said he would end qualified immunity for ICE and CBP agents so they can be held accountable in civil courts, and argued the Department of Homeland Security budget has grown substantially and some of those funds should be redirected to housing, health care and education.
