Fire Marshal Josh Rohrbach (introduced during the meeting) and program coordinator Kaitlyn Tepper described training, data improvements, and outreach that support the designation.
A visiting fundraiser and foundation representative described a recycling‑can trailer program that collected money for the South Carolina Children's Burn Foundation; the presentation included a check for $148. The foundation representative explained the group's summer camp for children who have suffered burn injuries and said the cost to send a child to camp is about $500 per child and counselor. Mayor Aviv praised the department's leadership and said Rohrbach is the city's first fire marshal.
