Ricky Wright described multiple potential future uses discussed with the owner and said staff had received an asbestos-testing estimate; staff recommended a staged timeline for repairs and inspections. "Staff recommendation at this time is to order the owner to repair: 30 days to provide a plan of action, including a time frame for repair and cost estimates and obtain all permits," Wright told the board. The board voted to accept the staff recommendation.
Owner Irene Lopez spoke at the hearing and described financial constraints, saying an electrical estimate came in at about $32,000 and that she is on a fixed income. The board framed the order as offering the owner an opportunity to pursue repair with staff assistance and requested staff follow up on permit activity.
