John said the city's sewer-cleaning contractor completed about 116,000 feet — roughly 21 miles — of cleaning and camera inspections this year and that crews responded to 12 calls, three of which were issues on city mains. "When they clean, they're getting us in good shape," John said, describing camera work that identifies laterals and settled sections that need repair.
He told the council the city performs annual manhole inspections (more than 1,200 manholes) and plans a sewer relining in a location near a new subdivision and a realignment project that will run through Friendship Park to address capacity and condition concerns. Staff said relining and targeted repairs will continue as budget and project sequencing allow.
